About the Site
Smartypants Pictures is a small, collaborative, Brooklyn-based team and the producers of the Academy Award-nominated short documentary 'Stranger at the Gate' and the Emmy-nominated series 'The Secret Life of Muslims.' Our focus is on original documentaries but our work is balanced with commercial projects as well. We are in the middle of an impact campaign for our latest short documentary, 'All the Empty Rooms' coming to Netflix this December. We are Brooklyn based, but a fully remote company.
About the Winternship
Tasks may include: performing essential development research, archival pulls, editing pitch decks, research/casting potential subjects, researching travel/hotel options/prices for productions, organizing appearance releases. Assisting our archival researcher in finding and organizing photos and video content.
This position requires meticulous organization, a diligent eye for detail, and sensitivity towards our various films' subject matter. Though we are a very collaborative team, each individual must be responsive during work hours, be proactive, and able to work independently. We are most interested in working with someone who is curious and willing to be creative in their research!
