May 2020

On May 11th, Film and Media Studies hosted it's first virtual Senior Thesis Screening to celebrate our students. The program spanned from documentary, fictional narrative, animation, and experimental. Noah Brown, Jacob Ehrlich, Joshua Kim, Orsolya Nagy, Rachel Napoliello, Harrison Queeney, Darren Rubin, and Madeline Weir showcased their films and participated in a Q&A afterward. This virtual screening gave our Film and Media Studies community the opportunity to watch the culmination of these students' creativity and hard work.

On May 12th, we hosted our second night of student film projects, which included short films, a music video, and a web series. This screening included the premiere of About Amelia, a short film that was the culmination of our two-semester Indie Filmmaking class with Howard Woolf, and the first episode of Old Guy, a web series about ageism created by Jennifer Burton, Five Sister's Production, and a collaboration of various Tufts faculty and FMS students.

Student and faculty films screened:

Howard Woolf's Indie Filmmaking Class, "About Amelia"

Isen Qian, “Dissection"

Alix Kaplan, "4/16/20”

Jennifer Burton, Old Guy: Episode 1, The Origin Story

Ana Sophia Acosta, “College Friends”

Katelin Ulmer, “Tapping into the Past, Tapping into the Future: Behind the Scenes”

Michelle Waslick, "my so-called digital social life"

Annie Yin, “How We Cope”
