A Decade of Storytelling, Creativity, and Community
This spring, the Tufts University FMS Department marked an important milestone: 10 incredible years of Film and Media Studies. Students, faculty, alumni, and friends of the department gathered to celebrate a decade of creative exploration, collaboration, and cinematic storytelling at the annual year-end celebration.
A Community Celebration
The anniversary event brought together longtime members of the FMS community alongside new students discovering the department for the first time. Guests enjoyed dinner from Anna's Taqueria, cake, conversation, and a shared appreciation for the department's growth over the past decade.
Faculty reflected on the evolution of the program since its founding, while students and alumni celebrated the creative community that continues to define FMS at Tufts.

Looking Back... And Forward
Over the last 10 years, Film and Media Studies at Tufts has grown into a vibrant interdisciplinary program where students explore filmmaking, media theory, digital storytelling, emerging technologies, and critical media analysis.
The anniversary celebration and film festival reflected not only the accomplishments of the department's past decade, but also the exciting creative future ahead for FMS students and alumni.
As the screenings demonstrated, the next generation of filmmakers and media creators at Tufts is already producing bold, thoughtful, and innovative work.
