Internships with the Office of State Senator Becca Rausch
Description:
Recently re-elected to her fourth term in the Massachusetts State Senate, Senator
Becca Rausch (D-Needham) is a proven champion of intersectional equity, strengthening our
democracy, and stellar service to her constituents. Interns will collaborate to advance these
objectives and support the Senator’s district through projects in communications, constituent
services, and policy development.
Compensation:
While funding is not available through the Senate, we will work with successful applicants to provide supervisor feedback for class credit and/or outside funding, if available.
Applicants must have completed at least one semester of college to be eligible for an
internship. For students who are enrolled in high school or who have recently graduated from
high school, you may apply to our two-week summer High School Internship Program: apply

Deadlines to apply:
• Fall Internship (September - December): Applications due July 1st at 11:59pm ET
• Spring Internship (January - May): Applications due November 1st at 11:59pm ET
• Summer Internship (May - August): Applications due March 1st at 11:59pm ET
Intern projects may include:
• Research projects related to outreach & engagement, constituent services, and policy
• Attending briefings and committee hearings
• Drafting newsletter and website content
• Compiling press clips and coverage
• Creating graphics and content for social media
• Developing constituent communications
• Conducting general administrative work
Required skills and core competencies:
• Strong writing skills
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Creative thinker
• Interest in and desire to learn about political communications and constituent support
• Ability to analyze policy from various perspectives
• Ability to efficiently multitask and stay organized
• Ability to work independently
• Confidence to ask questions or raise an issue when necessary
