Overview

FleishmanHillard is a global integrated communications agency delivering transformational outcomes for some of the world’s biggest brands. The FleishmanHillard Social & Digital team is seeking qualified candidates for a paid, full-time internship position at our Washington, D.C. office.


For the Spring internship program, please apply by January 31st, 2026.


The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $17.20 - $22.00 per hour.


NOTE: This internship offers a hybrid work experience (remote and in-office). The position is available to applicants local to the  FleishmanHillard Washington, D.C. office or applicants willing to relocate as necessary.


Spring 2026 DC Digital Paid Media Intern


Responsibilities

Day-to-day (and hour-to-hour) responsibilities may span from analyzing campaign data, crafting customized social media metrics  reports, monitoring and optimizing active campaigns, assisting in the  management and creation of paid social campaigns, building custom audiences, navigating advertising opportunities for existing and  emerging social platforms, conducting social media research and ongoing  monitoring, etc. Online communication is constantly evolving, therefore, so does our work!


Qualifications

Candidates must be a college junior, senior or a recent college graduate and hard working with at least a 3.0 GPA. The candidates must also display an eagerness to expand their skills in social-focused communications, marketing, advertising, and project management and be  available to work full time Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.  ET.


The ideal candidate for this position must be social media savvy, comfortable manipulating and interpreting data, has experience pivoting between multiple projects, able to navigate data analytics and is highly detail oriented. Specifically, the candidate should also have some  experience in the following areas:

  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.).

  • Interested in learning paid social media tools such as Meta Ads Manager, Twitter Ads Manager and LinkedIn Ads Manager.

  • Proficient or interested in analyzing and interpreting high volumes  of data. Excel proficiency is not required, but highly recommended.

  • Ability to synthesize data and develop insights, outcomes, and  implications in a straightforward and impactful way for internal and  external teams.

  • Ability to adapt content to adhere to paid media best practices across Meta, LinkedIn, Reddit, X, YouTube, etc.

Spring 2026 DC Public Affairs Intern


Responsibilities

Each intern is assigned a point person and works primarily with Public Affairs Team. Interns are expected to work with professionals in the team and others around the office to understand our clients’ various industries. Interns experience multiple facets of the communications industry and engage with account staff on various projects, including  research, writing, event coordination and staffing, media relations, and creative brainstorming. Responsibilities of the public affairs intern  include media monitoring and pitching, research related to client  industries and new business, supporting case studies and proposals related to new business, drafting and editing press releases, talking points, memos, social media posts, and other written content.


Interns must be a college junior or above with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Applicants should have excellent communication and critical thinking skills and be able to multitask and thrive in a  fast-paced environment. They should be committed to cultivating diverse  teams and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment. While a strong interest in public relations is a must, our internship  is not exclusive to public relations or communications majors.
