Student film screening featuring three FMS independent student films created under the guidance of FMS advisors Natalie Minik and Howard Woolf.  Films by Tucker Poux, Jamie Boots-Ebenfield, and Tim Leong.


Lucida by Jamie Boots-Ebenfield

A photographer reflects on the memories of his girlfriend as he negotiates whether or not to let go of her in order to gain control of the present.


Airbag by Tim Leong

In this drama-comedy, a father and daughter get into a fight on the roof of a parking garage. When the father gets stuck at the exit, his anger targets the people around him.


Blindsided by Tucker Poux

Unable to see clearly his entire life, Benny’s finally gotten the corrective eye surgery he’s been waiting for. Too bad it all goes down right as him and his girlfriend Daisy are at their breaking point.


Experimental Film

Expanded Cinema Screening by Kyle Petty's Experimental Film class.

Tues, May 2 @ 5:00 pm in Barnum 08


Kyle Petty's Experimental Film class presented an expanded cinema screening in the FMS Film Studio (Barnum 204). Films included collaged, painted, and scratched camera-less films and hand-processed 16mm with live sound accompaniment. Their revelry included the sweet light of the projected celluloid image - and a live band!

Orenthal: The Savior by Jason Wallace & Kelly Kimbis

Told from the perspective of a stuffed capybara toy, Orenthal: The Savior revolves around the death of Orenthal’s previous owner, Joey. Ezekiel, Orenthal’s new owner and Joey’s boyfriend, visits Joey’s family home in an attempt to grapple with his sadness, but things don’t go quite according to plan.


Goldfish by Abby Sommers, Varun Nagpal, Nick Pietrzak, Peter Wiehe, Justin Rubenstein

A cold-hearted, cutthroat film executive experiences amnesia, but begins to recover memories after an incident at work. As she pieces together more of the past, it becomes clear that she has chosen to enlist the services of a clandestine organization to wipe her painful memories. Now she stands at a crucial crossroads where she must decide whether to continue the cycle of forgetting to protect her career, or face her reality, the consequences of her past, and the people she once loved and betrayed.
