Advanced practice in journalistic writing with a focus on longform narrative, including features, profiles, and other magazine-style forms. Development of journalistic skills through analyzing published works, reporting and writing original stories on subjects of personal and academic interest, and developing work in a collaborative workshop setting. Prerequisites: ENG 7; and ENG 1 and ENG 2 or completion of the College Writing Requirement. Students with prior journalism experience may request to enroll without the ENG 7 prerequisite. Appropriate experience includes at least a year of campus journalism or equivalent per instruction discretion. To request to enroll without ENG 7, email the instructor.
